Heart Health

by MMhradmin on February 14, 2014

Some  employees chose to help spread the word of heart health
awareness by wearing red on Friday, February 14th.
By wearing red, they are pledging to take care of their hearts, as well as spreading awareness to others.

Our gorgeous Oysters, Ports and Baby… Bellas are going to be stars! They will be making their debut on CSI Las Vegas, March 5th at 10:00pm.
They will be in the opening scene, let us know if you spot them!

We can’t say enough about the dedication of our Employees! All across the country they dressed in Pink once a week in October to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Our Loudon Facility participated in the Race for the Cure event in Knoxville Tennesee.  Our facility in Madisonville raised money for the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  In California, our Royal Oaks facility raised donations for the Katz Resource Center in Santa Cruz, California.  At Monterey Mushrooms we are proud to participate and committed to raising awareness!

Investing in the Future!

by Monterey Mushrooms on September 6, 2013

Monterey Mushrooms is pleased to announce that the $2,000,000 mark has been achieved in total scholarships awarded to the dependent children of Monterey employees. $2,000,000 is a significant number by itself, but it carries even greater impact when you consider what it represents in terms of knowledge received and dreams fulfilled for our young people over the 20 years this program has been in place. Awards for the school year of 2013-2014 include a total of over $183,900 in new or renewed scholarships to 123 children of Monterey’s employees, company-wide. Shah Kazemi, president and chief executive officer of Monterey Mushrooms, feels strongly that education is the answer. “It is education which provides the pathway and the entrance into the worlds of math, medicine, science and technology; it is education that allows our young people to move forward and to realize their life goals.” This was the motivation that inspired the establishment of this scholarship program in 1992 – when Monterey gave out a total of five scholarships. It continues today as Monterey now sends students to colleges and universities throughout the country. Renamed in 2004 for the late Carl Victor Fields who was equally dedicated and committed to helping our youth, the program has grown into a vibrant and successful source of pride for Monterey. Applications were received from Monterey’s multi-site facilities located throughout North America. Evaluated on academic achievement, financial need and future potential, the awards are made for one year at a time, for a total of four years if the student continues to meet the criteria of the program. Now more flexible, the program’s awards are also used to finance trade school and community college programs, opening the many opportunities available through technical training
