Portabella Fries

Written by Monterey Mushrooms | Jan 30, 2017 8:01:00 AM

Okay, we admit it. These Portabella fries don’t contain any potatoes: they’re pure mushrooms! But you might be surprised by how well large Portabella caps can mimic the shape of baked or fried potato wedges. Cut your starch intake with these Panko-coated mushroom fries. The rich natural umami flavor the mushrooms gives each bite a salty hit without needing to reach for the salt shaker! Enjoy the creamy Parm and fresh thyme in each crunch without the extra calories or guilt.

Whether you're a football fan, a commercial fan, or just a fan of getting together with friends and family... most of the country will be hanging out with good food, good drinks and good conversation, so why not include some delicious mushrooms and tasty beer into the mix. It's sure to be a crowd pleaser!

I don't know about you, but in our house, the Super Bowl environment greatly varies, depending on the teams that are involved. My husband is a HUGE football fan. Actually, I'm not sure that even sums it up. He's a football FANATIC. That being said, he's got some teams that he is obsessed with and it can make watching the game pretty intense. For example, he'll be yelling and screaming at the refs and coaches (as if they can hear him) and he'll be nervously pacing inside or outside the house. One thing you can always count on though...he'll be munching on the prepared snacks and food.

This year, I thought that we were in the clear, since the two teams in the Super Bowl aren't near and dear to his heart, until I found out that he practiced with one of the Atlanta Falcon players in his college football days, Andy Levitre. Apparently, he went to a local high school in the area and is a starting offensive guard. I guess, it may be a more intense day that I thought.

Oh well. At least there will be good food, like the Monterey Mushroom Portabella Caps fries!
