My mushrooms are getting kind of slimy, can I still eat them?

Slimy mushrooms are a sign they’re starting to break down. This can happen if mushrooms become warm for several hours or the mushrooms are past their shelf life.

The shelf life of mushrooms is 10 days from the "packed on" date. We print code dates on all packages. To locate the code date, look for the text printed on the clear wrap film. It can be found next to the product label or on the side of the container. (code date can be found on the blank area of film, code will have a combination of numbers and letters).
